Takaomi Shibata was born in Tokyo on September 22, 1975.
He graduated as a violin maker in 2002 at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona, now I.P.I.A.L.L., a student during the school period of the Master Violin Makers:
Vincenzo Bissolotti, Massimo Ardoli and Ezio Scarpini.
After graduating he completed a three-month internship sponsored by the School of Violin Making at the “Francesco Bissolotti & Sons” workshop in Cremona, which company – given his excellent qualities – hired him.
At the Bissolotti laboratory he perfected himself in the construction of violins, violas and cellos, following the method of the Cremonese Classical System, also deepening his knowledge of painting techniques. In 2006 he moved to Boston to the laboratory of Maestro Marco Coppiardi, improving his knowledge in repairing, mounting and touching up paint. Since July 2007 he has worked at the Jecklin & Co. AG company in Zurich under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Bozzini, deepening his knowledge of the tools and restoration technique.
He currently resides and carries out his business in Cremona.
